Lili's Story
A bit of background for that little character
Lili arrived on our beautiful planet on the back of a whale. Along with many cosmic canoes…. She remembers the time where everything was one big loving field. There was only one language spoken between all living things. Although she now mainly spend her time on land, among the old boulders and trees, singing with birds and chatting with flowers, lili comes back to the ocean to remember and be held by the ancients. She shares stories, weaving with her magic spoon needle, playing her flute or her medicine drum…and she sings, dances and celebrates in ceremony when the season bring the new borns . ….
My relationship with whales started with a dream 25 years ago,,,they were swimming under my house… one of those dream that sticks and stays with you for days and weeks. Not long after I came across the book of Patrick Van Eersel, ‘the 5th dream’- dolphin, man, evolution. I remember being enchanted reading the chapter about musicians playing jazz withlfor whales on a boat in California, about interspecies communication.about babies being born in water with dolphins…. And toward the end of the book an Amerindian legend offering a poetic take on our evolution as a human specie - We are an unfinished dream that hasn’t yet found its rightful place in the world. We are a dream looking for its own fulfilment, we are the 5th dream ! The dream of the whales…
I fulfilled my dream of singing with whales, when I went sailing in 2012 around N’Kgari Island. It was simply magical to be in the company and held by those peaceful giants. I sang a lot, swam a lot and highlight of my trip, was high 5 by t a tale when sitting on a dingy. I ve been Going back for more listening, singing and sharing on the same boat almost every year since then .
